Built in 1812 to feed troops defending Dover and England against
invasion by Napoleon.
Best surviving mill of its era in Europe, with full automatic
flour-grading machinery to the design of American mill engineer,
Oliver Evans. three sets of working millstones, plus interesting
displays, cafe, art & craft gallery. A unique georgian
treasure.
Regular programme of guided walks by local historians, folk
nights, gallery exhibitions, and other special events.
A registered charity run by volunteers.
